In 2015, Samuel Van de Velde was one of the two co-founders of Pozyx, a spin-off of the University of Ghent.

"Now, 17 permanent people are working for us," he says. "Our office is in the former office of Mayor Termont in the old Bond Moyson building."

He takes part in The Big Score (an international venture capital & corporate innovation sourcing B2B event) to grow in Europe and perhaps worldwide. Another option is to find an interested investor who is willing to buy into the company.

Pozyx makes hardware and software for exact positioning on an industrial estate: a kind of indoor GPS.

"Forklifts, personnel, objects lying around: everything can be located on a digital map to be brought together."

Pozyx also works for agriculture.

"We make cow tags, sensors attached to the animal that allows the farmer to detect the behavior and movements when a cow is pregnant or in heat."
