April Enterprise Release
A new quarter and we present a new release of the Pozyx Enterprise software. This quarterly release called 2020.2 is again packed with new features and we’re highlighting some of them right here. For more info on the previous release, check out the previous what's new blog post from January.
Large scale TWR positioning
The two-way-ranging (TWR) positioning protocol, which powers the Pozyx Creator series has now been implemented for the Enterprise series as well. This allows Enterprise users to switch between time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) and TWR depending on their positioning needs. Where TDOA is ideal for positioning low-powered assets, TWR is more suited for fast moving objects, potentially in 3D. For a full comparison between TDOA and TWR, check out the Pozyx academy.
The TWR implementation on Enterprise is more advanced than on Creator as it also scales to larger installations powered by intelligent algorithms for anchor selection and distributed scheduling of tags, eliminating the need of a ‘master-tag’. These advanced TWR capabilities come with an easy-to-use tag update-rate configurator in the web application.
Enterprise 3D support
A much-requested feature for the Enterprise series is support for 3D positioning. We have listened to our customers and added this support, together with additional user-interface views to track the z-coordinate in real-time.
What’s new: network topology view
One major improvement to the maintenance features of the system is the ability to automatically capture and visualize the complete network topology of the anchor network. This includes the Pozyx anchors but also other network equipment such as the (managed) switches connecting the different anchors. This functionality allows the user to quickly understand his setup and pinpoint potential issues in the network.
What’s new in Analytics
In the previous release, the analytics pack, which provides location based-analytics based on historical tracking information, was introduced. In this release we have further improved the quality of these analytics by introducing additional post-processing algorithms that further clean up the positioning tracks. Furthermore, we have improved the user interface to make it easier for the user to find interesting data.
And much more
Other improvements are the addition of new diagnostic warnings, improved default positioning settings, and an improved positioning configuration UI.
